Clever Spaniards beat unlucky Belarusians

Club de Campo – Ritm Grodno 4:0 (2:0)

30.03.2013 - In the third match of the second day of the EHCCC in Hamburg Club de Campo won against Ritm Grodno and keapt alive his semifinal dreams. In a very close match most of the first half was dominated by midfield action. But then Madrid put up some pressure on the Belarus team and scored twice before halftime: First Maria Lopez converted a shot in the left corner, then Andrea Mowinckel finished up a great attack over the left side two minutes later.

In the third quarter Grodno pressed the Spanish team in their half and had several good chances – among others four penalty corners – but missed to get on back. The Belarus pressure went on in the final period, but again and again the Spanish defence was able to save the Grodno attacks. And then what will be will be: With their lone counter attack Madrid gained a penalty corner, which captain Barbara Malda converted with a hard shot into the corner. Belen Iglesias even raised the result to 4:0 three minutes later, which gives Madrid a good chance to achieve the semi final tomorrow under its own power.
