31.03.2013 - Defending Champion Laren MHC defeated Atasport HC in the first match at the Easter Sunday in a superior way. The scores was 5:0 (3:0) with two goals scored by striker Kim Lammers. The Dutch finally secured the top spot in Pool B.
The first match of the day at EHCCC in Hamburg started with half an hour delay because the pitch was still in preparation. Laren dominated the match from the start, got more chances and the first goal by forward Kim Lammers. Atasport was trying to compete and defended courageously, but can’t stand the pressure. So it was Lammers again, who scored by penalty corner. With the halftime whistle dutch midfielder Juliette Hentenaar does the same to make it clear after 35 minutes.
Atasport was more active at the start of the second half, but did have only a few scenes in the dutch circle. Laren still was still ahead and had the better chances, but missed to score until the 61st minute, when Fabienne Roosen made a fine strike fort he fourth goal. Maxime Kerstholt scored goal number five by penalty corner only minutes before the end.
