DAY 1: EXCITING OPENING OF THE WC

© VVI

2006-09-06 • The brilliant weather conditions saw a strong opening match. In the end the German team got the better of it and won 3:2 vs. India. After the opening ceremony New Zealand’s team showed that they really had a strong run in the qualification series, but the 3:0 defeat of the Argentinean team was at least surprising in its height. The third match of the day saw a tremendous fight between South Korea and The Netherlands, with the Koreans already two goals to nil before Holland with a fine second half equalized, only to see South Korea score the fifth and last goal of the match. All in all a really brilliant opening day, letting everybody look forward to the upcoming days of the tournament.

PLAYER OF THE DAY: Hyo Sik You (KOR)
