Korea came out on top after a poor match by both sides.
Both teams started defensively crowding together by the center line. Korea attempted an attack down the right through Seong Jung Kang, but were unable to really threaten the English goal. Most of the play during the first half found itself confined to the midfield and peppered with small unforced errors. England maintained slightly more possession but were unable to make it through the Korean defense with all their players remaining in their own half.
The only real chance for a goal in the first half came from a Korean short corner though Jang's shot sailed over the cross bar.
The second half began in much the same vein with few highlights to remark of, Mantell's shot from the first short corner for England in the 42nd minute missing it's target. England were unable to take advantage of Seo's yellow card 4 minutes later. Despite being down one man, Korea were still the more active team.
